The last blog about Me and You

In the end of the book” Me and You”, Lorenzo came back home. But I think there are two types of the ends. 

They are totally different, the first one ends at” She’d left me a note. This looks like a happy ending because Olivia promised to Lorenzo that she would not take drugs ever again. Then she asked and promised fro Lorenzo that they would meet after ten years. It is a really good ending. Lorenzo felt sympathy on others, and he did not think he was the best because there was sometime he felt useless. He grew up and for his half sister, Olivia, she promised to Lorenzo that she would not take drugs, and maybe because of Lorenzo, her relationship with her father would improve. And Lorenzo’s mom did not know what happened, she just know that her son was accepted by other children. She would happy, too. Then I remember the introduction of “ Me and You”, “ As soon as she moves away I pull a piece of paper folded into four out of my wallet. I flatten it on the able. “ Lorenzo really missed his halt sister and he loved Olivia because she was the most important person who changed Lorenzo’s personality. I would image that Lorenzo waited for his sister, after his sister came, they could talk for several hours. Lorenzo really wanted to tell to his sister that he grew up and he was not that boy who did not want to help her when she was standing out off the cellar’s door ten years ago. He imaged a lot. 

So before I read “ten years after” I felt happy. But after I finished reading this whole story, it was not a happy ending, Olivia was died at the Bar because of an overdose. Even though she promised to Lorenzo that she would not take drugs anymore but it was not easy to withdraw the drugs. And I think why she promised to Lorenzo that she would not take drugs anymore because of Lorenzo, but if there was no Lorenzo when Olivia waned to take drugs, how could she do? I was disappointed about this ending but I did not feel surprised about this ending because I’ve already known that Olivia took drugs for several years and even though she promised to her half brother about withdrawal, but there’s no opportunity for her to change, it was too late. Yes I did expect Lorenzo and Olivia that they could have a different kind of relationship after the time in the basement because I love Lorenzo. He’s stubborn and centralized but at the same time he was eager to make friends with others. When Olivia danced with him he felt something he’d never felt before.  Olivia was not a positive character in this book, she took drugs, sexed with an unfamiliar man and drunk. But when she found out Lorenzo saved her, she did not continue to say bad words and she began how good is her half brother. There’s an interesting part in the ending part, When Lorenzo asked Olivia when they got off here, where would she go, Olivia said she chose to go Bali to met her boy friend, then Lorenzo felt jealous and he though Roman was a lucky guy, Lorenzo would also like to go to Bali with Olivia. 

Lorenzo’s story was like a biography about what he learned and who he grew. He was from a centralized, inflated and self-proud boy changed to a boy who hold sympathy and outgoing boy. He was really smart, he knew how to act when he met with different people. There’s a description I liked the most in Chapter 9, “ He tidied up the cellar. Kill the mutant and he finished everything. Started reading Salem’s Lot again. Reading about vampiric metamorphoses.”  This was a development after he stayed long time with Olivia. I did not want to say that Olivia taught him how to behave I just wanted to say that we can not judge everyone by others’ opinions. Before Olivia and Lorenzo met, Lorenzo did not like Olivia because she did not treat their dad good, because after he stayed long time with Olivia he became felt sympathy to Olivia. So from Me and You,when Lorenzo met problem, first time he would want to his dad, his dad is Lorenzo’s dependence. If Lorenzo kept taking care of Olivia in this ten years, would she die? If Lorenzo’s parents took care about grandma Laura, would she die,too? So please spend more time with your friends, take care of them, there must be someone cares about you. 

How has Lorenzo changed by the end

By the end of the novel, Lorenzo has changed his personality into a outgoing and positive boy in the end.Lorenzo has changed because of his half sister-- Olivia, she helped Lorenzo out of the centralized and felt alive. She made Lorenzo felt sympathy about his dad and Olivia.Lorenzo described himself that "I danced I felt something I’d never felt before. I knew that beyond that door the world was waiting for me, and that I would be able to talk to the others like I was one of them." Now he was not inflated, he became positive and had his hope. Because of Olivia, he did not only help Olivia, but also he opened himself.Finally Lorenzo grew and he wanted to accept others, these changes were due to Olivia, his half sister. He found out he did care about others, especially his relations.

Performed that he hugged with his sister was unusual for a centralized person. But he was not that Lorenzo, his sympathy was all covered his mind in that moment.

Olivia and Lorenzo had the relationship between sister and brother. But Olivia had another mom apart from Lorenzo. Olivia did not know about her brother why he lived on the basement, he did not go to ski week, just stayed in the basement to spend the ski week. But suddenly, Olivia needed money to use, then she remembered that she had some money in the box, then she found Nihal who is the housekeeper about the box, and Nihal told Olivia that box was in the basement before. Then she went to basement in order to find the box. That was why she found Lorenzo, just an accident, but Lorenzo did not have any money to help her. So this was first time Olivia met with Lorenzo after Easter, then she left.

At first, Lorenzo does not want Olivia to stay with him because of several reasons. First, There was his cellar,there was just only room for one person. Second if she stayed here, someone would notice that someone stayed in the basement, and Lorenzo arranged everything,he did not want Olivia to break out this place. In the book, it was described that “She would mess everything up. There is not any room, it was dangerous. He was here undercover, he can not open the door for her.” He found a solution to set up Olivia that she could ring the buzzer upstairs. Lorenzo’s parents would put hr up in the guest room, she would be much more comfortable than sleep in basement. 

In the chapter five, the initial reason that Lorenzo agreed Olivia to sleep in the basement because of afraid and empathy. Before the chapter five, the author talked about Lorenzo’s father, he did not have any empathy to anyone, especially on his son. He had very big controlling desire. So I would image that his son,Lorenzo, also would not have empathy to anyone, also Lorenzo did not have any good friends. But due to some accidents and curiosity, he opened Olivia’s box and began to look at everything in it. He found out some pictures about Olivia, and one more important thing, A letter from Olivia to her dad. In the letter, she told her dad:  Money is important in Olivia’s world. She have been lucky to have a father like Lorenzo’s father who lets her live her own life and who, when she makes a mistake, practically always helps her out. But enough. She made many trouble for his dad. too serious.  When dad met Olivia, it would make her dad remind of his shitty marriage to her mom. That was not her dad’s fault, thought. She knew that for sure. She would learn not to hate him, have to learn not to hate him when his money arrives and when he call her to find out how it was all going. She have hated him for too long, with no remorse. Lorenzo read it three times. He had not realized that Olivia hated dad so much. Lorenzo’s dad was her father after all. Dad was like a man who takes himself too seriously, as though they carry the weight of the world  on their shoulders. But in the different environment he would change his style. Olivia was one who had decided not to see him anymore. Dad was doing his best to rebuild their relationship. So Lorenzo felt both empathy to Olivia and his dad. But this was not the only reason he wanted to help her, Olivia knew that where did Lorenzo live, and she kept this secret for him, if Lorenzo did not open the door for her. She would make the whole building know where Lorenzo is. So because of afraid and empathy, Lorenzo felt sorry for Olivia and he wanted to help her. If her problem was solved, she would continue to keep the secret of Lorenzo’s.

In chapter six, because of mom, she gave a phone call to Lorenzo. Mom was very angry, she can not control her voice, the author used “yelling” to describe. But there was Olivia, she pretend she was Alessia’s mom, she successfully lied to Lorenzo’s mom that she was really Alessia’s mom, but on the hand, the reason why she helped Lorenzo because she had Malaria, she wanted to find a comfortable place to live long time. After chapter six, I changed my mind about Lorenzo’s personalities, he was not only introversion, emotional. He had some positive parts, like empathy to dad or Olivia. When he really find a partner to stay, to communicate, he would no longer become negative.

Me and you the first 25 pages

On the eighteenth of the February 2000, Lorenzo mom took Lorenzo to a ski trip, but he lied to his mom that he wanted to go there by himself because he did want his friends be laughed about his mom. . But in fact he did not go ski, he just found a place to live for the ski trip week.

Kevin's simple story

Once upon a time, Kevin went to Wuhan on Nov. 28, he went to Wuhan with Johnny in order to meet Randy who is the best friend for Johnny and Kevin. Kevin lived in Jinan and Johnny lived in Guangzhou. Because these two places are not nearly from Wuhan, Kevin needed to take 5 hours train to go there and Johnny needed to spend 4 hours on the train.

When they arrived to Wuhan, then they met Randy. These three guys did not think about where should they go and what would they do in Wuhan. Johnny and Kevin just wanted to talk with Randy about what did Johnny and Kevin do this year. So these three guys found a coffee shop, they ordered some food and drink, then they began to talk. Because these three guys are good friends, so they talked about many things, like school, computer games and their dreams. After they went out from the coffee shop, Johnny and Kevin felt hungry, so Randy took them to eat the local snacks. There was a reason that Kevin wanted to go to Wuhan, because of the local snacks. Which was very attractive for Kevin. Even though Kevin needed to spend five hours on the train to go to Wuhan and also used five hours to go back to his hometown. But in Kevin's thinking, he just needed to spend ten hours on the train, then he could see his friends and he can eat many delicious food, which was worthy.

This was the first time that Kevin went to another country without his parents. Before Kevin went to America, Kevin was afraid to go to another place with himself, but now he thought he became independent that he wanted to try to do something that depend himself.  After this journey, Kevin wants to accept more knowledge and try more new things in order to help him to become independent.
